Shawn Terrell

Shawn Terrell is a financial advisor, podcaster, author, and speaker. He is also the founder of Dentist Exit Planning, an independent financial planning firm for dentists. Shawn began his career in the financial services industry in 2011. In 2021, he founded Dentist Exit Planning to provide fee-based financial planning only for dentists. Shawn is also the host of Dentists, Puns, and Money – a podcast focused on the stories of dentists exiting clinical practice, and the critical financial pieces of that transition. In 2020, Shawn authored a book – The Professional Practice Trap. It focuses on the problems faced by service firm owners, like dentists. Shawn lives in West Des Moines, IA with his wife Laura, and sons, Teddy and Ollie. Away from work, he enjoys following the Iowa Hawkeyes, listening to Pearl Jam, and riding his bike as much as possible.
