Celebrating the Phanord family for 2022 #BlackHistoryMonth. Two generations of #GatorDentists talk about their legacy at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, starting in the 1980s when Dr. Roger Phanord made it his mission to start a program to recruit undergraduate African Americans interested in dentistry.

Then came twins, Dr. Kevin Phanord and Dr. Kyle Phanord, who both proudly continued the legacy as mentors and leaders during their time at #UFCD.
They’re as humble as they come and exemplify leadership, and especially service to others.

So proud to call all three Gators. Thank you, Phanord Family, for all you do in your South Florida community and beyond.

The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is a free summer enrichment program focused on improving access to information and resources for college students interested in the health professions. SHPEP’s goal is to strengthen the academic proficiency and career development of students underrepresented in the health professions and prepare them for a successful application and matriculation to health professions schools.

The 6-week program will take place on the University of Florida campus, with on-campus room and board. We are very excited about this opportunity and hope that this will be informative to students interested in the Health Science field.

The University of Florida College of Dentistry educated future dentists and dental specialists through its 16 degree and certificate programs. Each year the college admits a new class of about 80 D.M.D students consisting of individuals who are among the top pre-dental students in the nation.
