This Viva Learning CE course (2 self-study credits) is geared towards Georgia dental hygienists and dentists. It fulfills the recent June 2023 Georgia ruling that mandates training in legal ethics and professional conduct in clinical dental settings, as it relates to the practice of dental hygiene. This class is a requirement for dental hygienists practicing in the state of Georgia toward biennial licensure renewal.
1. Education and training regarding professional boundaries relating to sexual misconduct, abuse or exploitation with regard to the practice of dental hygiene.
2. Ethical behavior and professional conduct related to dental hygiene.
3. Proper billing practices.
4. Professional liability and risk management.
5. Legislative updates and policy and advisory opinions/rulings by the GA State Dental Board as they are updated.
6. ADA Code of Ethics included as a supplemental document to this class.
