As clinicians we strive to create masterpieces that are supposed to endure one of the most hostile environments on earth – the human mouth. We can tell our patients to take better care of their new tooth, or we can prepare our restorations to withstand forces like acidic saliva, pathogenic bacteria, or even medication induced xerostomia. Faster dentistry doesn’t make longer lasting restorations, but better clinical techniques and combination strategies definitely make dentistry more fun and create healthier patients.
