    The UCLA School of Dentistry's 58th Commencement Ceremony was held Sunday, June 1, 2025. Degrees were conferred to 112 Doctor of Dental Surgery students, 11 Master of Science in oral biology candidates, two scholars earning an oral biology Ph.D., and 54 residents completing certificate programs. The keynote speaker is Anna Spain Bradley, J.D., Faculty Director of The Promise Institute for Human Rights at the UCLA School of Law.

    In early 2025, The National Institutes of Health (NIH) awarded a $20.6M million grant over five years to establish one of five Human Virome Characterization Centers (HVCC), leveraging UCLA leadership and the collective expertise of interdisciplinary scientists nationwide to advance understanding of the virome's role in human health and disease across the oral–gut–brain axis.
