Dr. Laura Brenner practiced dentistry for 10 years before she left clinical dentistry behind for good. She dabbled in several side gigs over the years including blogging, weight loss coaching, and selling skin care. In 2011, her blog post, "10 Reasons Your Dentist Probably Hates You Too," went viral, opening the door for her to share her journey into and out of dentistry. For over a decade, her Lolabees blog has created a safe forum for dental professionals to openly discuss the unmentionable challenges of a career in dentistry. Dr. Brenner's writing paved the way for a new discussion with new solutions: what to do if you've invested your whole life into a career you don't love.

Since 2011, Dr. Laura Brenner has been connecting with other dentists from around the world who also wanted more career freedom and happiness. She is known for having the honest, and sometimes taboo, conversations about the difficulties of practicing dentistry, giving a voice to thousands of dental professionals who felt alone in their struggles. In 2017, she started her final side gig and became a Certified Professional Coach. She founded Lolabees Career Coaching to help other dentists design their lives and careers on their terms.

Dr. Brenner writes and speaks about burnout, gratitude, perfectionism, boundaries, and well-being. She promotes choosing your own career path, whether that involves part-time clinical work, starting a side gig, non-clinical or non-traditional careers in dentistry, or even a complete career change outside of dentistry. Her private Facebook group, Dentist Side Gigs, welcomes all dental professionals in any stage of their career who are looking for the inspiration and motivation to align their lives and careers with who they truly are.
